How Data Sync Works Between Web and Mobile

Assignd syncs your data so you can move between devices without losing anything.

What syncs

Across web and mobile (if you have both), we sync:

  • Classes

  • Assignments and tests

  • Due dates and times

  • Task status (completed vs. incomplete)

  • Some settings (e.g., time zone, class colors – depending on implementation)

How often it syncs

  • On web: data updates each time you open or refresh the app, and after key actions (like saving an assignment).

  • On mobile: data usually syncs when you open the app and when you make changes.

If you stay on one screen for a very long time, you might need to refresh/reopen for the latest changes from another device.

Resolving sync conflicts

If you edit the same assignment on two devices at once, the most recent save usually “wins.”

If something looks off:

  1. Refresh your browser.

  2. Force close and reopen the mobile app.

  3. Check the item again.

If you still see inconsistent data, contact support with details of:

  • What you changed

  • Which devices you were using

  • Approx. times of changes
