Changing Your Time Zone and Why It Matters

If your assignments look like they’re due at weird times (like 3:00 AM) or reminders seem off, your time zone might be wrong.

How to change your time zone

1. Go to Settings in Assignd.

2. Find the Time Zone section.

3. Choose your correct time zone from the dropdown.

4. Click Save.

We recommend choosing the time zone where you do most of your school work (usually where you live or where your school is).

What changes when you update it?

• Due times will be shown in your new time zone.

• Reminders will trigger based on your local time.

• Calendar views will align with your actual day.

If a teacher gives a due time like “by midnight,” make sure your time zone lines up with how your school thinks about that deadline.

Common symptoms of the wrong time zone

• Reminders feel too early or too late.

• Assignments show up on the “wrong” day.

• Due times look off by a few hours.

If any of that sounds familiar, fix the time zone first.
